Overview

In accordance with the Town of Auburn Charter, there is a five (5) member Board of Selectmen each of whom are elected for 3-year terms. 
The selectmen have all powers and duties conferred upon them by the Constitution and General Laws of the Commonwealth and by the Town Charter. 
The Board is the licensing authority for various licenses and permits.
The Board appoints the Town Manager, the Town Accountant and Town Counsel.
The Board appoints members to the Finance Committee and Zoning Board of Appeals. 
The Board votes to confirm or deny the appointment of department heads designated by the Town Manager.
